President'sMessage
Congratulations to Marc Stewart as the recipient of the Region 7 B.K. Taylor award. The chapter is fortunate to have members like Marc.

The chapter board is developing a plan for the public relations committee to more affectively promote our chapter and the organization as a whole. The effort will be tied to raising the public's awareness of water safety. We are in contact with a representative of the San Diego Safe Kids Coalition to develop materials and literature for the chapter to provide to customers, prospects and the general public. As an example, I will be attending a Cardiff School District Parent Student Organization meeting and will provide information for their newletter. I have been asked to speak at an assembly. I also have tentative approval to hand out information at Cardiff Elementry School's festival in May. Leif Leloup will provide information on water safety and write-ups, pictures, etc. on the chapter's activities for the chapter's web site. Terry Bussard is in contact with the Polinsky Children's Center to set up another day of activities and lunch with the kids. Mike Gregg is developing banners to display at the S.P.P., S.C.P., P.W.P., etc. A.J. Wilson, as I.P.S.S.A. N.S.P.I. liaison, has offered to help put me in touch weith companies affiliated with N.S.P.I. in an effort to promote water safety and our chapter at shows, street fairs, etc. Please let us know of other ways to get the word out.

The chapter board meeting was held at the Karl Strauss Brewery and Restaurant. I don't know if it was the warm salad plates, meatloaf, or the fact that the board members had long ago memorized the menu, but we were due for a change from Marie Callender's Restaurant. The board meetings will be held at a different locaton each month. Please check the Skimmer for the location and call me if you are interested in attending the meeting.

Jon
