Vacation was great. I appreciate the efforts of those of you who contribute to ~ September. general meeting in my absence. Nominations submitted in writing will be accepted for the annual B.K. Taylor Memorial Award at the October general membership meeting. A form as been included in the Skinnner for your convenience and additional copies will be available at the meeting. ThE nominations will be presenteE at the Region 7 meeting to be held on October 24th. The Quality Resort has assured me that a notice will be posted at the front office in the event of a change of meeting location. This seems to be a more frequent occurrence than we had hoped. Iwillkeepyou informed as we prepare to execute a contract renewal. JON THE MEETINGS WILL START NO LATER THAN 7:00 P.M.

Secretary's Report August meeting minutes were accepted as printed, however it was noted that the next blood drive was Oct.21 not Sep.21. Treasurer's Report We're looking good financially. See the financial report in the printed Skimmer. President's Report None / Out of town Vice President's Report Mike has been receiving some response to the IPSSA signs at Superior, SCP, etc. Most of it from sales people wanting to speak to us. No new or prospective members at this time. Information from the BORD meeting regarding contractors licenses. New wording was adopted as follows: If you are required by law to have a contractors license, you "should" have a contractors license. BORD will be forming an Adhiock committee to study this further. Mike presented a summary of the water chemistry test results in the Region. Our chapter is at only 47% compliance. The association is at 65% compliance. We are encouraging the membership to take this seriously and pass the test. Rick Bishop will be scheduling tests in the near future. A.J. Wilson mentioned that Wayne Fish teaches a class to prepare you for the test. John Silcox made a motion that the chapter aquire enough of the water chemistry books, to have on hand and give them to the members at no cost". There was a second to the motion. We had discussion on the motion. It was voted on and passed. COMMITTEE REPORTS Sick Leave Trudy should be retunling to work about the second week of Oct. Blood Drive The next blood drive will be held on October 21, 2000. Denny's Restaurant 8:00a.m. off 70th & 1-8 Come and have a free breakfast and perform a great service. Continuing Education Several Seminars are coming up, Raypak heaters is one, see Jim for more information. ENT'ERTAINAMENT The IPSSA Picnic was a great success. David Courey will be stepping down from this committee. (Thank You Dave for all your hard work in the past). Xmas party is being planned. PUBLIC RELATIONS Product testing - Pat Farrior introduced some rapid set cement for some tile repairs etc. when you need more than thin set. (no shrinkage). Grievance Try a universal adapter ring for Anthony lights. Haywarde Filters, Top & bottom New Business A $50.00 donation was made by the board to the Memory walk on Oct. 7, 2000. Called to order at 7:05 PM Attending: Gregg, Rumble, Stewart, Nichol, Silcox and Hines. Secretary Report The following members did not attend any 3rd quarter general membership meetings: Peat Burke, Tim Decker, Scott Dominiak and Mark Curran. One member cancelled his membership. Correspondence: copies of cancelled employee forms, employee start dates, insurance deductible issue and dropped and reinstated member. Some members still need to pick up a life insurance beneficiary form and fill it out. Please check for this at the sign in table. Treasurer's Report Mark presented his monthly report of income and expenses. As always we are in good shape financially. (See printed Skinimer for the detailed report). The following chapter supporter advertisements will be dropped from the Skimmer for non-renewal: Last Patch, Underwater Uniimited and The Pool Dentist. Vice President's Report We spoke about the water chemistry test and how to help more members become certified. Joe Lukacik formerly an east county member wants to become a member of our chapter. He is a retailer who does not want any sick leave coverage. We discussed having him become a chapter supporter. The guest speaker in October will be Red Barrett from SCP. President's Report B.K. Taylor award nomiinations need to be in by the October general meeting and in written form. Please see the insert in the printed skimmer. B.O.R.D. Meeting: Nov. 4, 2000. Sally Ryan will be staying on until 2002. A motion was made that attendance of the November General Membership meetings be mandatory for all members, unless prior approval for absence is received from the chapter president. The motion was seconded. The motion was carried unanimously. Food will be considered at the November meeting, come in October and put in your requests. We had a problem with a sick leave pool coverage. The sick leave chairman appeared before the board and stated his case. Alan Jaquish appeared before the board to state his side of what happened with this sick leave pool. A motion was made to fine Alan $150.00 for violation of sick leave rules. It was seconded. There was discussion and the board voted unanimously in favor of the fine. Committee Reports SICK LEAVE Trudy should be retning by the end of October. Public Relations: We would like to get the water watcher tags ready by Feb. 2001. Manufacturer's Rebate: Still waiting for news on the heaters. BLOOD DRIVE Next blood drive will be Oct. 21, 2000 ENTERTAINMENT
